Our restaurant "Frankenkrone" offers you 220 seats. Here you may be pampered by our chef. We are sure that you will find the perfect wine, which matches your meal. In our wine list you will find 70 bottle wines and about 16 open wines.

You will find our „Quellenstube“ behind our hotel bar. Music from our hotel orchesta/band, every Saturday (except in August). On the other days we will open our „Quellenstube“ on request for larger groups etc.

You will find our swimming pool and our sauna on the basement. You can take our elevator. Your key opens the door to our swimming pool with sun terrace.

The table tennis room can also be found in the basement. Table tennis bal and table tennis bat can be borrowed at our reception.

1) Setting the laptop
Mostly the laptop network settings for wireless networking are on "IP address automatically" set. It requires no modification to your device. The wireless network is typically detected automatically and connected. The Wi-Fi icon will appear without the cross. Make sure, by relaxing with the right mouse button to display the available wireless networks.

2) Registration

To register please click on the link "Kaiseralm-Gaeste" (picture 1). Then please enter the current password (you will get it at the reception). You come to the site of the terms of use (picture 2). Please check the conditions of use and if you accept them, please click on "I accept the terms of use" and enter the current password again (picture 3).

Leisure time activities around the hotel

Bischofsgrün is the starting point for your leisure time activities because of its wooded and mountainious environment and its different sights.

Historical things:

Bischofsgrün had even in 1204 its own parish church and was first mentioned in 1242 in the certificate of bishop Otto and was regarded as the eastern border of the bishopric Bamberg. According to tradition, however, Bischofsgrün had a hollow glassworks in the year of 900. At that time Bischofsgrün was called “Bischofsgrune”. Even the first settlers were very skilled in craft and used the raw materials like tin, gold, wood with alkali, iron-free quartz and clay for their skilled work. In 1317, 5 brothers form Hirschberg received the Rudolfstein and the belonging villages as well as “Bischofsgrune”, by inheritance. Under their reign even in 1340 the manufacturing of glass came to its height. The shield of Bischofsgrün presages of this glass-manufacturing as well as of mining. The small village in the low mountain range was very early a resort in the Fichtelgebirge.

Location:

Bischofsgrün is situated in the middle of the high „Fichtelgebirge“ at the end of the two highest mountains of Franconia, the „Ochsenkopf“ ( 1024 m ) and the „Schneeberg“ ( 1052 m ). Bischofsgrün is situated at an „isle of clearance“ at the hight of 680 m (above sea-level), surrounded by spruce woods and meadows, which are typical for the low mountain range.Bischofsgrün has with its part of a village Wülfersreuth one of the highest situated settled regions (700 m) of Franconia.

The length of the chairlift (new buildt in 1992) is 2241 m and gets over a difference in altitude of 354 m. The climb will last about 17 minutes. There is a lookout tower and a tourist café „Asenturm“ (closed on Monday in summer months) at the park. Bikes may be transported from the south side (tour from Fleckl). In addition there is a mountainbike way at your disposal. This way should only be driven along with a helmet.

The summer-toboggan run started half the way at the northern course (tour Bischofsgrün). Here it is possible to get out of the chairlift. The length of the summer-toboggan run is 1.000 m and has 10 steep bends. In case of doubt, we will ask by phone if the run is open. The Alpine coaster starts at the Valley station "Nord"

The walks and cross-country courses started partly, directly in front of the hotel and at the valley station of the Ochsenkopf. For alpinist-skier there are about 12 runs around the Ochsenkopf. Ski- and ski-school for children is in the village.

Trip to Fichtelberg (10 min.)

Visit of the museum for automobiles with its classics, prototypes, dream cars and motor-racing cars. Trip to „Fichtelsee“.

Trip to Marktredwitz (25 min.)

Visit of the distillery museum of the company „Rauch“ with taste, walk through the pedestrian precinct with the historic town hall.

Trip to Neuenmarkt (25 min.)

Guided tour through the museum for steam engines, situated at the end of the first steep way of Europe, the "Schiefene Ebene". Afterwards it is possible to drive to Kulmbach which is only 20 minutes away.

Trip to Wunsiedel (25 min.)

Visit of the most beautiful national theatre of Germany, the „Luisenburg“ (Festivals June-August), then a walk through the labyrinth of rocks. Visit of the liquor manufacturing "Sechsämtertropfen" with taste.

Trip to Bayreuth (30 min.)

Visit of the Richard-Wagner-festival theatre, the Eremitage, the „Markgräfische Opernhaus“ and the museum of brewery of the “Maisel” brothers.

Trip to Kulmbach (45 min.)

Visit of the „Plassenburg“ with its German museum for pewter figures (the biggest collection of pewter figures).

Trip to Waldsassen (45 min.)

Visit of the basilica, one of the most fascinating baroque churches of Bavaria, as well as the library of the monastery.

Trip to Kronach (1 h.)

Visit of the fortress “Rosenberg”, in which you can find the franconian gallery of the Bavarian national museum and the country museum of Franconia.

Trip to Bamberg (1,2 h.)

Visit of the „Bamberger Doms“ and the old town centre . Then a trip to the castle „Pommersfelden“.

Trips and sightseeing tours

Trip to Coburg (1½ h.)

Visit of the „Veste Coburg“, one of the biggest castles of Germany, with antiquities, collections of weapons and arts. Then a visit of the museum of nature with about 400.000 objects and the doll museum of Coburg. Not far from Coburg you will find the game park palace “Tambach”.

Trip to Schleiz (1 h.)

Visit of the palace „Burgk“ then a boat trip at the “Bleilochtalsperre” (only in summer). Eventually trip to Saalfeld in the grotto of fairies (1 h.).

“Town of china” Selb (40 min.)

Stop in Hohenberg a.d. Eger with a visit of the museum of the german china-industry. Buying-facilities in Selb at Hutschenreuther, Rosenthal and Heinrich Porzellan.

Trip to Vogtland (1 h.)

Visit at the „town of lace“ Plauen, the centre of the Vogtland. You drive from Plauen, to the „Talsperre Pöhl“ (from April - October tour by ship). Return journey via Syrau with a visit of the dragon cave and the only one of the formerly 30 windmills of the Vogtland.

Trip to Regensburg (2 h.)

Sights: Stone Bridge, Porta Prätoria, Dom St. Peter, Basilica St. Emmeram with cloister and Castle Thurn and Taxis.

Trip to Franzensbad - Frantiskovy Lázné (1 h.)

The town with its healing swamp is situated near the town Cheb and has a wonderful park.

Trip to Karlsbad - Karlovy Vary (2 h.)

The town with the 12 thermal-sources is the biggest and most well-known health-resort in the Czech Republic. The „Mühlbrunn-Kolonnade“ and the terrace builds over the river „Tepl“ are in the centre and are great for walks.

Trip to Marienbad - Mariánské Lázné (1½ h.)

The town in a sea of green, is the second biggest health-resort with 40 healing sources and is situated foothills of the “Kaiserwald”.
